Persons arriving by steamer at Lyttelton frequently complain of the absence on tho wharves "of any information regardinn tho time-table of tho train service to the city, and in many instances have arrived at the railway platform just in time, to see a train leaving for Christchurch (says a southern paper). To overcome the difficulty, it has been suggested that the railway authorities should erect a few neatly-designed signs at conspicuous' places along the various wharves, mnro particularly on the lerry steamer Jetty.
