Tho bombs whicli wero discovered at tho rear of the altar in St. Paul's Cathedral and in a doorway in Bouverie Stroet Contained detonators, clockwork, screws, bolts, and explosives. Tho licking of tho bomb in St. Paul's attracted tho verger's notice. How it was placed in tho choir is a mystery. It was of tho size of a pound mustard .tin. An explosion would have wrecked the choir, tho mitrblo rercdos, and Grinling Gibbons's famous carvings. 'J'ho polico describe tlio bomb as small, but fiendishly powerful. (Rec. Tho Bishop of London, Dr. Ingram, invited a largo evening congregation at St. Paul's to join in thanksgiving for tho preservation of the building. Tho newspapers ascribo tlio set-back in tho position of tho women's sulfrago causo compared to what it was in 1911 and 1912, as being largely duo to tho militant outrages. Tho "Westminster Gazette" says that Parliament felt that if it passed Mr. Dickinson's Women's Representation Bill it would be acting in tlio teeth of public opinion.
