WAS HE ARRESTED? By Telegraph—Press Aasoolatlon—Copyright London, May 7. Tho Central News Agency's Paris correspondent states that Sir Derrick Wcrnher lias been arrested for alleged fraud. Tho police aro reticent. Paris, May 7. 'Tho newspaper "La Temps" denies tho story of Sir Derrick Wernher's arrest. The Magistrate only interrogated him regarding an unimportant civil claim. [Sir Derrick Wernhcr is a son of the late Sir Julius- Wernher, Bart., who was the head of the firm of Wernher, Beit, and Co., and left a very large fortune. Sir Derrick Wernher, who has been a spendthrift, and not long before his father's death sought the protection of the Bankruptcy Court, was bequeathed of which <£1200 was to be paid yearly until tho beneficiary reached the ago of 30 years, and then JM4OO yearly.]
