Jlr. Ernest J. Bell, late of London, has been appointed chi'cf librarian of tho Chrisl church . Public Library. Mr. Bell has had very, extensive experience of liJ>ravy management and administration. in Himc of tho largest libraries of the great metropolis. He arrived in the' Dominion two years ago, -and sinco then has licr-ii engaged in cataloguing the Auekland University Library. Mr. IJell's experience of library work in London extends over thirteen years. From 1899 to 1901 lis was assistant librarian at the Richmond Library, from 1901 to 1903 he occupied a similar position in the Hammersmith Libraries, and from 1903 to 1911 he occupied the position of senior assistant librarian at the Fulhum Libraries, the second largest circulating library in London.
