THE DARWIN STRIKE. STATE OFFICIALS AS LUMPERS. By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright Darwin, May 7. The strike of members of the Amalgamated Workers' Association employed by .the Federal Government, and who demand a wage of JC4 for a 41-hour week, continues, Government officials discharged tho .steamer Linschoten's cargo. Tho volunteer: workers included a Judge of the. Northern Territory, the Railway Engineer, tho Director of Agriculture, tho Chief Surveyor, and a number of others. A gang of natives and the ship's Javanese crew assisted.
It is not considered likely that thp strike will last much longer, although the union has telegraphed for assistance.
