Tho volunteer: workers included a Judge of the. Northern Territory, the Railway Engineer, tho Director of Agriculture, tho Chief Surveyor, and a number of others. A gang of natives and the ship's Javanese crew assisted.

It is not considered likely that thp strike will last much longer, although the union has telegraphed for assistance.
