MINING NEWS.
WELLINGTON SHARE iIARKET. Tho developments in the Waihi mine, which are viewed extremely favourable, have been responsible for genuine buying on the part of the public. The shares : were sold on 'Chanse at yesterday afternoon's call at 355. 9d„ while on Saturday the best bid was 325. 6d„ and a few days earlier it was difficult to sell the shares at. 295. The advance is thus nearly 7s. per share, which puts another £175,000 on tho market, value of the money. Tho shares would ere this have gone much higher, but money is tight, and speculators are few. Talismans arc also firmer. Of tho larger mines the Consolidated Goldflelds are the weakest on tho market, principally because it. is impossible to set any information regarding tho money, and chiefly as to the disposal of tho founder's share due to Mr. David Ziman. It is time the New Zealand shareholders of this company sot together aud roused up tha management. Yesterday's quotations were as under:— Buyers. Sellers. £ s. d. £ s. d.
