ATTEMPT AT ASSASSINATION

The assailant was arrested. The Grand Duke's assailant sprang on to tlio step ol the carriage, and tried to clutch him by the chest. 'Die Grand I)ul;c struck tlio raau under tlio chill with the pommel of his sword. The police lind much difficulty in pre* venting the crowd from lynching the man, who is supposed to be insane.
