MANAWATU RUMOUR. A report has been in circulation in the Manawatu district during the last few days that a welt-known resident of Oroua County has been left a fortune of £4,000,000.' ■ Last night the following message camo to hand from our Wanganui correspondent :— A Wanganui lady, Mrs. A. Jacques, is reported to be a participant in a legacy of four millions sterling, recently left to a well-known farmer of Reira, in the Oroua County. Inquiries last night failed to thiow light on the identity of the reported new millionaire.
