WEATHER AFFECTS PRICES.' ' Owing to tho bad weather towards tho end of the present week prices for practically all lines at tho lilair and Allen Street markets .havo fallen considerably, and it is anticipated that there will not bo a revival until tho weather conditions improve. Fairly good consignments of first-class pears are now coming to hand from Canterbury, and up to a few days ago they wero returning very payable prices. At the timo of writing, however, values havo declined about 2s. Gd. per bushel. Cooking apples are in better demand, prices having advanced during tho ; wtyk, .but where dessert apples are,concerned, practically iu> movement lias taken : place. A small consignment of peaches arrived during tho week and commanded a high figure. Last week's shipment of Rarotongan fruit met with a ready-sale, aaid good prices whero the ; i'rilit was'in good order, but quite a largo quantity, particularly bananas, arrived i,n very bad order. Vegetables are still ooiiiing to hand fairly freely, and with tlio. excoption of tho rise and fall incidental to eacli day's pales, thero has been, littlo change during the week.
