CARTERTON NEWS.
The eighth annual meeting of tho Wairarapa Terminating Building Society was held at Carterton on Thursday evening. Messrs. G. Hughan, 17.l 7 . E. Tyler, and L. 11. Smart wero elected to tho directorate, tho last-named two 111 place ot Messrs. J. Moncricff and W. T. Masson, who had resigned. It was docidod that the practice of having ngenis in t tho vanoifs towns bo discontinued, and in tutuvo all the collecting bo done by the society's secretary. The retiring directors wero accorded a voto of thanks, and regret was expressed at their decision to relinquish their seats. At a subsequent meeting of directors, Mr. L. H. Smart was elected chnirman.
