DATES AND PARTICULARS. Notice is given in the Gazette by the Inspector-General of Schools that tho undermentioned examinations will bo held on tho dales specified:— Intermediate Competitive Education Jloard Senior Scholarship Examination: On or about November 18, 1913, and following days. Intermediate non-competitive, for. senior freo places in secondary schools and district high schools and for tho first examination of pupil teachers: On or about November 18, 1913, and following days. Junior National Scholarship: On or, about November 2" and 28. 1913. : Junior Vreo Place (including the examination for junior free places in technical schools): On or about November 27 and 28, 1913. Teachers' Certificate Examinations, Class C and Class D: On or about January 5, 1911. and following days. . The Civil Service Junior (Public Service Entrance) Examination, being now confined exclusively to candidates desirous of entering the Public Service, scholars ship candidates who nro required by tho various .scholarship regulations lo tnke this examination will now enter as intermediate competitive candidates. Entries for Junior National Scholarships and Junior l'Vee P'nces, and for the 'first examination- of pupil teachers, must bo made through the principals or head teachers of the schools attended, and will bo received by secretaries of education boards not later than September 15, 1913. Junior Scholarship and Junior Free Place entries received after that date can bo accepted only with tho consent of the Education Department, which, if satisfied in nnv special case that there has been reasonable ground for delay, may allow not more than seven days of grace. Late entries for the first examination of pupil teachers can be accepted # only under conditions applicable to the intermediate examination. • ■ Entries for the intermediate conipetifive and non-competitive examinations will l>o received by tho Inspector-licncral of Schools, Wellington, until September 15, 1913, or. with a late fee of .CI, until September 22, 1913. 1 ..
