Shortly afterwards Clapshaw, getting in a scramble in I ro.it of goal, put on a second gosl. Plav resumed, and, for a time, Artillery had l'akeha defending, but Iho fine plav of Paget and Perry at full-back snved time niter time. Then Pakcha. playing with n lot of dash, got right down'the field, and tlio ever-ready Clapshaw added another goal.
/ 'i the sceond spell Artillery, playing with more combination, marie' the game very 'fast', but want of experience lost them several cliance~. The play was up and down the field for tho best part of tlio spell, but from a scramble at halfway James (Artillery) carried the ball into Pakeha's circlo, and Perry, in trying to save, pent tho ball into tho net. Pakehn, -l; Arlillery, 1. Tho game ended without further score.
For the winners Paget and Perry (backs), W. X. Thompson, Clapshaw, Rowley, and lleyhos (forwards) were tho pick of a good lot, while, for Artillery, Franks (in-goal). M'Cluskey, and .Tames (backs), Gillespie, Speiice. and Gleeson were the best. Mr. J. C. Cusack was referee. nt'l MA I—HERE AW A. The venue of this game was also Karori. In the first spell Hui Mai had tho b:st of tho exchanges. Hoy opened tho score for Hui Mai by finding the net from n scramble in front of the i;oal. This score'was shortly followed by Liddle getting the ball from tho half-way lino right into tho circle, and, beating tho goal-keeper, lto easily added tho second goal. Hereawa then had a chance to score, but lost it by hitting too hard, and Brooko presently carried the ball from his twenty-fivo line and added another goal. Just before half-timo, Hoy again, found the net. Tho spell ended: llui Mai, 4; nercawa, nil. In the second spell tho plav was more oven. Ilereawa playing well togethor, had, if anything, the best of the game. Hoy and llreo each scored for Hui Mai, while Kucli. Bovd, and Lo Comptc each scored for Horeawa. Lo Conipto's goal was tho result of tho best bit of play during the match. Tho game ended in favour of Hui Mai bv G goals to 3._ For the winners, Cameron, M'Keevcr, Hoy, and Liddlo were mostly in evidence, while, for Ilereawa, Lo Compte, Boyd, Kuch. and Clementson wero tho best. Mr. Goodman was referee. . I'ETONE—PAIvEHA B. Played at Potone, this match resulted in rather an easy win for Pelone by 10 goals to nil, Potono scoring 1 goals in tho first half and 6 in tho second. The following scored for Petone:—\V. M'Ewan, i; J„ M'Ewan, 2; Howe, 2j Oavill, 2. Tho M'Ewan Bros., Howe, and Pallant' wero tho best for Petone, while Bowalor was tlio best for Pakeha. Mr. Empson was referee.
