Storo cattle: Only a small number of store cattle were yarded. Yearlings realised 335.: fifteen to eighteen-month sorts, £2 17s. 6d. to £3 55.; two-year steers, £5 12rS.; two-year heifers, £4 55.; three-yenr steers, £6 to £7 25.; tbrec-yoar heifcm, £5 155.; four and ilve-yoar steers, £8 to £8 86.; and cows, £1 10s. to £3 10s. Dairy cows made £4 10s. to £11 15s. 4d.
Thoro was a largo entry of fat pigs. Choppers reaJiaed £2 10s. to £4; and heavy baeoners £3 to £3 155., equal to 4d. to 43d. per lb. Lighter sorts mado £2 7s. 6cL to £2 155., equivalent to sd. to 55(1- per lb. Heavy porkers brought, 40s. to 4fe, and lighter sorts 325. to 375., this prico being equal to 5Jd, to 5Jd. per lb. There was a good entry of stores, and the demand for the small sorts showed a marked improvement- as compared with the previous week. Tho heavier pigs, on tlio other Hand, wero unchanged. Largo stores made 365. to 425.; medium, 255. to 355.; small, Ifa. to 24a Weaners brought 12s. for small sorts to 16s. for Eood pigs.
BUItNSIDE MARKET. fßy Tolegraph.—Press Association.) Dunedin, April 30. At Burnside today 135 fat cattle wero yarded, the bulk of which were mediumweight -steers -and Rood to medium cows and heifers. Owing to tho small supply {hero was a fair demand, and prices were, if anything, better than last week's rates. At tho end of the sale they advanced fully £1 per head. Prime bullocks, £12 to £14 10s.; medium, £10 to £11 55.; light, £8 to £9 55.; best heifers and cows, £9 to £11 12s. 6d.; medium, £7 to £-0;. light and inferior, £4 10a. to £6.
Fat sheep: 3800 penned, a fail* proportion of which were heavy to medium-weight, wethers. The sale opened with a very slack demand for medium wethers aiid ewes which, on an average, sold at Is. per head beloiv'last week's rates. The demand was somewhat irregular, and at times medium and inferior ewes wero very unsaleable. Prime heavy-weight wethers wero in good Tequest at laet week's rates, and, at the end of the sale, were decidedly dearer. Extra, heavy wethers, 265. to 28s. 9d.; Eood, 225. to 245.; medium, 18s. 6d. to 215.; light, 14s. 6d. to 175.; extra heavy ewes, 225. to 245. 9d.; good,'l7s. to 205.; medium, 1&>. to 165.; light, Bs. 6d. to lis.
Fat. lambs: 3500 were penned, the bulk of which wero of good to medium quality. Owing to a report of the fall in values in London, tho demand was not so keen, and prices were, on an average, about, Is. per head lower than laet week. Bc6t, 18s. to 2Da.; good,. 16s. to 175.; lieht. 14s. to -15s.
Piss: Tho yardiDE was exceptionally email, tlicro beinpe only 42 stores and small sorts, and 24 fat pisrs. _ Tho latter met with very keen competition on account of tho small entry, and all sold at liish prices. Stores, . slips, and suckers were also in fair demand, and realised fully last week's rates.
