HELP TO MEMBERS.' The Morton branch of the New Zealand Farmers' Union has proved very helpful to members in financing manures, etc., says our own correspondent. Air. C. 1!. Cook, secretary, states that he has put through orders for 201 tons of manure at a cost" of .£1197 18s. -Id., tluis effecting n .saving in discount to members of ,£SO 4s. lid. This is an increase of about CO tons over last year. Ho also managed to get field drain pipes at a satisfactory figure, obtaining some 9000 at a cost of «£SO, and allowing a discount to purchasers of over As regards Farmers' Mutual Insurance, there were 83 policies belonging to the branch, covering risks totalling £32,299, of which .C-1095 »rcpresented the new business for tlio year. This satisfactory increase, ,Mr. Cook says, is no doubt due to tlio increased confidence in the Mutual Association- and the reduction of rates on first-class risks.
