MR. ALLEN IN CANADA.

Mr. James Allen, the New Zealand Minister for Defence, bad a splendid reception hero. Ho was entertained at.luncheori at the Canadian Club, the LieutenantGovernor and the Mayor being present. In a stirring speech on defence, Mr. Allen stated that New Zealand intended to placo the question above party. Discussing . Empire defcnce in tho Pacific, he asked whether Canada was going to stand by New Zealand and Australia, and endeavour to solve tho problem. The question must bo answered sooner or later.
