MASTERTON NOTES.
(From Our Special Correspondent.) Masterton, April 30. The Hastei-ton Harrier Club held its oflicial opening run l'rom tho residence of the l!ev. A. T. Thompson on Tuesday evening, there being a good muster. A three-mile course was traversed, and in Ihe run home of 410 yards L. Crass proved tlie winner. Only one building permit to tho amount of t C-l.'jO was issued in Masterton during the month of April. During the month of April there were 33 births, six marriages, and eight deaths registered in Slasterlon. The hockey ami football championship- are to commence shortly. On Saturday next: the first round of the Wairarapa Rugby Union Championship will bo begun. ,
