THE STUDY OF THE SUN.
The study, of the sun is one of the most urgont scientific!-'problems of tho present day, and it has been taken up with great energy nnd enthusiasm in the Northern Hemisphere, but it is now found that the work done there is marred and to eoii)o extent nullified by tho lack of au observatory at tlio Antipodes. The opportunity of making good this defect, is now being offered to tho peoplo of Now Zealand.
Miss Mary Proctor, who has been conducting a series of lectures throughout the Dominion, in an endeavour to help the people of Now Zealand to accept this honour, will deliver tho Inst lecturo of her series in the Concert Chamber of tho Town Hall to-morrow evening, when slio will lecture on "The Story of the Sun." Tho lecturo will ho fully illustrated by means of lantern slides, and will give mi up-to-date exposition of the interest and utility of the study of the sun, (
