A married lady who, when shopping, was taken to tho manager's room at Sclfridgo's, London, and charged there with having stolen some toy chickens, brought an action for slander against the firm, but tho jury, after hearing the evidence, gave answers to questions framed by Ilio Judge, and those answers were unfavourable lo tho claim, and justified the firm's action.
