THE LABOUR DEPARTMENT. . (By Telegraph-Special Correspondent.) Wanganui, April 29. In the Magistrate's Court latently, during the hearing'of certain caws for alleged breach of induslriujl ftwaids, it wast insinuated that thu Labour Department was pursuing a pin-prick policy and needlessly harassing business people. During tho hearing of further cases to-dny, reference to this statement was'made by the lnsjicctor of Awards, who showed ciearly that the administration of tho Depnrtinont evinced an opposite spirit. During the last year he said that as many as 113 complaints had baen made to him of breaches of awards, but only fourteen found their way into . Court, tho remainder having Iran amicably rcdressetb The annual meeting of the Christ Church parishioners was helil last night. Mr. H. M. Payne was appointed vicar's churchwarden, and Mr. T. Price re-elect-ed to represent tho parishioners, Tho meeting passed a unnnimous resolution in support of ' tho Biblc-in-Schools League, and pledged itself to active work in furtherance of tho League's objects.
