REFEREES' ASSOCIATION. The ninth annual meeting of the Wellington Hockey Referees' Association was held last ovening, Dr. Morpeth presided, and a full muster of members were ureseat. The report staled that referees had been provided for 143 games during the past season. The chairman, in moving the adoption of the report and balance-sheet, congratulated members on the success achieved during the' past season, and also spoke of tho good feeling existing between the Management Committee of tho Hockey Association and the Referees' Association. The report and balance-sheet were adopted. Two new members were elected. The election of officers resulted as follows:—Chairman, Dr. Morpeth (re-elect-ed); lion, secretary and treasurer, Mr. C. M'Kenzie (re-elected); appointment committee, Dr. Morpeth, Messrs. J. Oicndail, and A. A. Bennett; examination board, Dr. Morpeth, Messrs. Falconer, and Southwick. A discussion (took place on that portion of Rules 19 and -ft of hockey, referring to a ball being stopped (not necessarily motionless) on tho ground. It was decided to rule that before a goal can br scored from a corner-hit. the ball must be stopped on-the ground by tho player or his stick, and must not (in tho opinion of the vel'erce) rebound at an angle greater than a right angle.
