FIRE AT WESTPORT.
o fliy Telceraph.—Presa Association.! Westport, April 27. A fire occurred at 5 o'clock (his moniing iu premises owner! by Mrs. Carriclc, nncl occupied by 3lr. Carey as n fish shop. 'J'iie back portion of the building and the stock were destroyed. Tlio fire extended to adjoining promises, also owned by Mrs. Carrick, mid occupicd by Airs. Palmer, stationer, doing damage to a ceilinc. The (ire also extended in the opposite direction, doing saino damage to o building owned by Mrs. Green, and occupied by Mr. -J. C. Young, auctioneer, on the ground floor, and Misses Gordon and Bird, iearoo'iis, on second floor. The ceiling of die kitchen of the latter rooms was burnt through, and considerable damage dono by water and smoke. Most' of the damajo done to young's was by.smoko and water. Thcie premises were the scene of a recent fire. Mr. Carey has JJ2OO insuiance on his stock and furniture in ills Guardian office; Mrs. Palmer, ,£6OO in different offices on her stock, which is much damag-ed-by smoke; Mrs. Carrick, .£3OO on tlio' building occupied by Mr. Carey in the Commercial Union. It is alsc understood that Jlts. Palmer's building is insured.
