April 27, 5.5 p.m.) Constantinople, April 26. There is much uneasiness in Armenian circles at Adana where the phenomena preceding tho 1909 massacres havo again been observed. Inspired by racial and religious animosities, terrible massacres of Christians by tho Moslems took place at Adana in 1909, tho victims including some American missionaries. It was estimated that between 15,000 and 25,000 people perished in the outrages at Adana and neighbouring districts, which assumed such serious proportions that tho British, French, Italian, and German Governments dispatched warships to tho locality for tho protection of their respective citizens.
