At the resumed inquest on the girl Esther Porter, aged 14 years, who resided at Bankstown, and whose body ivas found near the Bunchbowl Railway Station on March 5 last, tho evidence disclosed a possible new solution of the mystery. It was stated that deceased had been friondly with a baker named Chard, and occasionally went for rides in his cart. The detectives have submitted a report stating that there was a growing conviction amongst the polico that it was not a case of murder. They suggest that Porter wa9 riding with Chard, and was butted off the cart and struck her head on a stump in falling. Tho medical cvidenco was that the wounds ware compatible with this theory. Tho inquest has not finished. Chard was bound over ia his own recognaisanco to appear when tho inquest was resumed.
