The detectives have submitted a report stating that there was a growing conviction amongst the polico that it was not a case of murder. They suggest that Porter wa9 riding with Chard, and was butted off the cart and struck her head on a stump in falling. Tho medical cvidenco was that the wounds ware compatible with this theory. Tho inquest has not finished. Chard was bound over ia his own recognaisanco to appear when tho inquest was resumed.
