MARKING GRAIN SACKS.
MERCHANTS AGREE TO A SCHEME.
Tho secretary of tho Dominion Farmers' Union (Mr. E. 0. '.Tuck) lias received a letter from the Wellington Chamber of Commerce enclosing a communication from tlie National' Mortgago and Agency Co., of Dunedin, which intimates that arrangements Jiavo been made with all the merchants in Now _ Zealand to mark grain sacks in a unifoim manner. The .letter in question is as under:— "Referring to your letter '. . .re tho marking of grain sacks, wo are pleased to adviso you that -wo have now heard front all the merchants in New Zealand, and they are willing to have their sacks marked as under:—
■ 48 x 2GJ : 1 stripe ' JG x 2GJ 2, stripes ■ -1G x 2-li 3 stripes 44 x 2Gi .4 stripes"/. It is hoped that after tho first year all tho saclcs coming into tho Dominion will be marked as above, and this system, when unanimously is expected to prove very useful.:
