Tho Italian Dreadnought Duilio has been launched at Cast ell amaro. |The Duilio is ono of Italy's 1910 programme of five Drcndnoughts---t]io Comto itli Cavonr, Giulio Cesare, Leonardo da Vinci, Duilio, and Andrea Dorin. The three first-named were to bo completed this year, and the Duilio and An'droa Dorin aro to bo ready next year. The Duilio's dimensions aro:—Normal displacement, 21,500 Ions; length, water-line, 530 ft.; beam, 913 ft.; moan draught, 27Jft.; length, over all, 575H't. Jlcr belt is Ofin. Term armour amid'ship, tapering to lin. at tho ends. Tho Duilio's main armament will
be thirteen j2in. guns, which will be Inid 011 the modern centre .system, three of llio live turrets having three guns apiece. The Duilio will bp fitlfd with hirbinp m.ichii.ory, liovio-poww -'.Wi, knU spttd contract outimato of Sil.ii knots. |
