SUPREME COURT.

THE HALF-HOLIDAY QUESTION. In the Supreme Court yesterday, Mr. Justieo Edwards heard an application for an injunction to prevent n poll being proceeded with at Masterton on the halfholiday question. The poll was advertised for next Wednesday, and the application for' tho injunction was made by one King, gunsmith, of Masterton. The defendants were tlie Masterton BoroughCouncil and the Returning Officer.

Mr. T. F. Martin (instructed by Messrs. Hollings and I'ragnell, of Masterton) appeared in support of tho duplication. The Borough Council ami the -Returning Officer did not appear, the council having decided at a meeting to (alio no pari; in the proceedings. His Honour granted the injunction on the ground that it was proved that tho requisition was, not signed by ten per cent, of the electors. It was ten or more short.
