Tho last word, so to speak, on tho lotiitstanding disputo between tho Technical School Board (and with it' tho Wellington Education Board), and tho Industrial Association with regard to tho ownership of tho Technical School Annexo in Victoria Street, was heard at tho monthly meeting of tho Technical School Board last oveniug. Tho torms ; of tho settlement havo previously been announced—about two weeks ago—in formally oonvoying tho news to the board last evening, the chairman (Mr. D. Robertson) expressed his 'satisfaction that justico had been dono on terms of an equitable compromise. There was some difference of opinion on this 'point Mr. J. E. Fitzgerald contending that the settlement by no means guaranteed the board any eecu.rity« off tenure even as tenant or tho building. The chairman, in a paternal tone, reproved the dissentients, and remarked (hat it had been entirely duo to-ilio Industrial Association that the city had a technical school at all, such as it was. The classes were scattered all over tho city, and ho hoped that tho first duty of tho new City Council' would bo to assist to remove tho reproach that tho capital city of New Zealand; mado such poor provision for technical education.
