RIFLE SHOOTING.
The annual contest for the Hardware RiHo Cup will lake place at Trenthnm tomorrow, weathor permitting. Tho cup itself, a very haudeomo trophy, was/ presented by tho. firms interested, viz., Messrs. E. AY. Mills and Co., ,1. Dnthio and Co., Briscoo and Co;, Stewart and Co., C.. and A. Odlin Co., for annual competition between teams from the different nouses, under the following conditions:— Each team to consist of ten men, ranges 300 and 500 yard?, seven shots at each distance, three wins necessary io secure cup. Captain J. lioach and Lieutenant Hugo hava consented to act as rango and trench officers respectively, and special scoring arrangements have been made by the committee, so that spectators will be ablo to follow , tho'progress of the match, and know how each team stands as tlio separate sounds eomplote their firing. A rifle, donated by Messrs. Pieper and Co., will also bo fired for, under sealed handicaps. The annual social, at which tho winning team is presented with tlio cup, is held in conjunction with the match, and this will take place on Slay 2.
