Mr. Dimock-spoke highly of the work which -Mr. Churchward had done for the centre.- By his tact he had brought to its present state the centre, to which all tho "Wellington district clubs belonged.' It was greatly due to Mr. Churchward's energy and ability that the' centre's competitions were the excellent contests they were.

Messrs. ]i. J. Hill (Hutt), J. Scott (Newtown), "Wylio (Pctone), E. Moult (Wellington), J. Gamble (Thorndon), Ganaway (ICelbunte), I'\ K. Reeves (for the press), and J. J. Various delegates at that stage wero of the opinion that it was not worth carrying on.. The first tournament was Held in 1909 on tho "open-ddor" policy, and there were GO rinks competing. Since then the centre had increased in favour, and he thought that it had shown cause for its continuance. (Hear, hear.) It was with feelings of rejjret that he resigned tho secretaryship, but since severing connection with the centre he had become freed of certain business ties, and might at some future time tako over the work again. He heartily thanked the centre for its handsome' recognition of anything he had done for them. (Applause.) , During the evening the health of tho chairman (Mr. V. Dimock) was drunk with "musical honours." Mr. G: Allport proposed the toast. Mr. Dimock returned thanks.
