COLLEGE HERETICS CLUB.
1 To-night, in the hall of tho Victoria Coll ogo Gymnasium, at 8 o'clock, tho Heretics' Club will hold its first fortnightly meeting for tile present year. Tho proceedings will consist of a debate on the Bible-in-Schols question. The Re\ A. \V. 11. Compton, M.A., of lielburne, seconded by the Rev. G. B. Stephenson, M.Sc., of Fetoiic, will move:—"That the system of religious instruction in State schools as advocated by the Bible-in-State-Schools League in New Zealand is in the best interests of the Dominion." The negative will bo upheld by Mr. F. G. Hall-Jones, 8.A., and Miss Marjory Nicholls. both members of the Victoria College Heretics' Club. As at all meetings of this body the public are invited to bo present and take an active part in the proceedings on an equal footing with the members. Afte rthe leaders have spoken those in the body of tho hall will lmvo ai oportunity of breaking a lance for their . respective convictions. Professor Hunter will bo in tho chair.
