Tho by-election for the Shrewsbury seat in tho House of, Commons, rendered vacant by tho death of Sir Clement Hill, resulted:— Mr. Lloyd (Unionist) 2412 Mr. Morris (Independent) ... 1727 [The polling at tho last general election was: Sir Clement Hill (Unionist), 2423; Mr. Thomas Price (Independent), 1855. Shrewsbury has returned Unionists for a number of years.]
