Tho. Hon. W. F. Massey (Prime.Minister) is at Oliura, the Hon. \V, Frather at Greymouth, the Hon. W. 11. Herries nt Queenstowu, and tho Hon. Dr. l'omaro at Auckland. Tho Hon. R. H. Rhodes leit for tho south last evening. Tho lion. H. D. Bell will leave for Auckland on Sunday evening. Tho Hon. A. L. Herdnmn is in Wellington.
Tho Hon. R. H. Rhodes left for tho south last evening. Ho will go on, to Dunedin to-day and, at the invitation of llio West Harbour Borough Council, will open a new post office at Ravensbourno on Friday afternoon.
The General Officer Commanding tho New Zealand Forces (Major-General A.J. Godley, C.8.) will arrive in Wellington from the south this morning and proceed direct to Oringi camp, near Dannevirke, on an official visit of inspection.
Mr. Clias. Holdsworlh, general manager of tho Union Steam Ship Company, re; turned to Wellington by tho Maunganui yesterday. Mr. Holdsworlh is to lcavo on Friday next for San Francisco by tho Tahiti, and will then go on to London on business connected with tho company's affairs. , Mrs. Holdsivorth is lo accompany him.
Dr. Valintine, Inspector-General of Hospitals, left for tho south by tho Maori last evening. The death is announced from London of Captain Frederick Lenox Langdalc, formerly of the lioyal Navy, who for many years, during his residence in Fiji, was representative for Messrs. Lever Bros. Cnptain Langdalo had dono much surveying work in the Pacific, and w;as tlie author of a novel entitled "Murooued in tho South Seas."
•Mr. Stanley Addison, B.Sc., general secretary of tho Australasian Student Christian Movement, is due to arrive in Wellington to-day by tho Tahiti, en route to America and England. Tho object of Mr. Addison's visit is to meet leaders of the Student Movement in tho countries named. During his slay In America lie will attend the conference of the World's Student Christian Federation, at which 300 delegates from 40 different countries will bo present. It is expected that some of tho outstanding problems of tho movement, such as its place in Roman Catholic countries, will bo dealt .with at this gathering. Tho secretary of tho conference will be Dr. John R. Mott. After spending some weeks in America, Mr. Addison will attend similar conferences in. England, and will return to Australia in Sopteinbor of this year.
Mr. .William M. Broome, for many .years ono of tho most prominent educationists iu Now South 'Wales, died last week at llio ago of 57. Mr. Broome was ono of tho founders of the Teachers' Association, and filled almost every office, including that of president.
Mr. .T. E. Russell, who has resigned tho position of manager of tho Empress Theatre, was entertained by tho stall on Tuesday evening and presented with n silver-mounted travelling companion and shaving set. The presentation was made in suitable terms by Mr. Lister, tho incoming manager. Mr. Russell is to leave for Sydney to-morrow.
Mr. J. Gee, of Sydney, a member of West's Pictures' Directorate, is to pay a visit to Wellington shortly in connection with the business of his firm Lore. Mr. J. Maughan liarnett left for Auckland by last evening's express. It is practically certain that Wellington will have tho pleasure of hearing Madame Mary Conly, the distinguished Australian soprano, shortly, most probably in "Elijah." with the lioyal Wellington Choral Society. Mr. F. .T. Edgar, Governor of Pentridgo Prison, MelbDurne, died last week. He was about 50 years of tiRC. Mr. Edgar was a brother of tho Rev. A. R. Edgar, of Melbourne, and of the Victorian Minister for Public AYorks, tho Hon. W. H. Edgar. The Wnnganui Borough Council has (says our local correspondent) nominated Mr. N. C. Staveley, borough engineer, for a scat on the proposed New Zealand Plumbers' Board. Dr. Dawson,-of KoH'otonga, is at present on a holiday visit to New Zealand. Ho arrived in Wellington yesterday, after spending some weeks in the north.' Dr. Dawson is staying at the Occidental Hotel. • Mr'. George Moir, a very old and respected resident of Eltliarn, is dead, aged 78.— Press Association.

Mr. Geo. Pearce, who left for England a fortnight ago, returned to Wellington from Australia by the Maunganui yesterday, owing to the death of his wife in Sydney last week. Mr. Pearco was accompanied by Mr. W. A. Mowbray, who left Wellington at tho same lime.
