OTAKI NOTES.

A meeting of the parishioners of the Church of England was held on Tuesday evening. There was a large attendance, nnd the Rev. C. Smith (vicar) occupied tho chair. The following officers were elected: —Vicar's churchwarden, Mr. R. W. Booth; poople's churchwarden, Mr. L. St. George; auditor, Mr.. C. L. Hartmann; treasurer, Mr. F. S. Simcox; vestry men, Messrs. S. W. Rapley, G. Lothbridge, J. R. Bills, C. Williams, W. Vaughnn, A. Drake, and W. Best. Regret was expressed at tho resignation of tho Rev. C. Smith, and it was deeided that he be given a testimonial eulogising his work-during his stay in this district. A farewell "social" is also to be accorded to Mr.(Smith prior to his departure from the district.

The annual meeting of the Hockey Association was held on Tuesday evening. TJio election of officers resulted as follows:—President, Mr. Byron Brown; vice-presidents, Messrs. D. S. Mackenzie, S. W. Carter, F. I'enn; management committee. Messrs. AV. Broughbn, T. Vincent. S. Horn, W. Bovis, j. Davison, and E. Smith; sccrctary, Mr. C. Jiuld; representative selectors, Messrs. A. M'llain. 11. Nieolson, and W. lirouditon. It; was decided to open the season on the first Wednesday in May.
