Sugden (Christchurch), 91, 1; Miss Symes (Waaganui), 89, 2; Miss M. Stringer, 80, 3. Impromptu debate (men)—H. 11. Cornish tind.O. C. Mazengarb, 1; F. G'. Spratt anil Ti. L. Cooper, 2. Shakespearean recitation (lady)— Miss Z. Hartley (Auckland), 17G, 1; Miss P. Brown (Wellington), 172, 2; Mrs. A. J. Dreamer (Auckland), 158, 3. Tonor solo—A. E. Petty (Christchurch), 82. 1; E. Kussell (Christchurch), 79, 2. One of the competitors in the vocal solo was Miss.E. Smith, of Christchurch, a girl of fourteen, whom the % judge. Herr Ciir! Sauer, declared was a coming Melba.
