At. the wool salea 10,067 bale?, including 5771 from "New Zealand, were offered. There was a large attendance, and an excellent spirit, prevailed. Wide competition existed. Crossbreds fold at par with the doling rated of tho March sales. ftlipcs wero occasionally ciiiittad in sellers' favour. Of merinos tliero waj a rather limited •selection, and priccs were maintained. The Bank of Naw Zealand has received the following cable advice from iitv London office, dated April C":—market: Tho sales Imo opened with strong competition, and large attendance of buyers. Total quantity New Zealand wool available is ICO.OGO bales. Compared with the average of last series, prices for practically all descriptions are unchanged. Messrs. Dalgety and Company. Limited, Wellington, have received cable information from their London office, under date April 22, .a? fbllows:—'"Wool sales have opened, and the attendance of buyer* generally is large and competition animated. There is a. good selection available. and tho market w firm, prices being on a. par with last Eerier closing rates." Messrs. I'OVin and Co.. Limited, have received the following cable meseage from their agents in London, daled April 22: "Wool sttlo opened firm oil a par with closing .rates or lust. sale. Large attendance of buyers*." Tho Now Zealand 1/oa'n and Mercantile Agency Company, Limited. has rer-eived the following cablegram from their London bouse, under date April 22:—"Loudon wool pale*: There was ;? full attendance at the opening of the galas to-dav, competition by Homo and Continental, buyer* being active, and prices as compared with the close of preceding .-cries ruled firm for all sorts. The opeuing catalogues were representative." N Meters. Abraham and Williams, Ltd.. have received the following cable message from tlieir London agents, dated April 22:—'"There was a large attendance of buyers at the opening of the sales. Prices were Arm for all wools at closiug rates of last series." Messrs. "Murray, Roberts, and Co., Ltd., have received a cablegram from their London friends. Meesns. .Sanderson. Murrav, and Co.. under date April 22, an follow?:— "Greasy merino h<i3 declined par to 5 per rent., .but for all other descriptions of wool the market, is lirm and shows no material change." Messrs. James Macintosh and Go. report having received the following cabin pies*■<ig-« from their London agents, under' date April 22:—"At the wool shlps to-day Hie market remained unchanged.'' The United Farmers' Co-operative eiatton. Limited. 149 Lnmbt-on Quay. Wellington. have received the following cablegram from their London agent*, under nale April 22:—"The third .-cries of wool sakv opened to-do,v. There was a large attendance of Home. Continental, and American buyers, and considerable competition. Fine, medium, and coarse crocksbrell show no f rjuotable change, as compared with closing rates of previous .vales."
