Mr. Frank Feast has been elected -Mayor of Carterton unopposed. Messrs. W. 11". Hulllie, James' Callister, William Fisher, Gordon Hughan, T. 11. Hughes, 11. Hutchinson, A. S. Judd, J. J'reddy, B. Roberts. L. IT. Smart, AV. E. J. Stevens, and F. E. Tyler were on Tuesday nominated as borough councillors. As there are only nino vacancies an election will bo hold on Wednesday next. This will be the first election for councillors which has taken place in the Carterton borough for several years. It lias, in fact, been difficult in the past to obtain sufficient nominations to form a council. Mr. and Mr.-. W. M. Ifalley, of Palmer-s-ton North, arc at present on a visit to Carterton. At the annual meeting of the Dalciicld Football Club on Monday evening, it was decide:! to enter a junior and third class team, but the Management Committee was empowered, if it thought lit. to enter the. junior team ill the senior contest.
