KARORI AFFAIRS.
PINAL MEETING OF OLD COUNCIL. Tho fori,nightly meeting of the Karon Borough Council—-the last of the present councillors—was held last evening, there being present: The Mayor (Mr. C. Cathie), nml Councillors W. T. Ilildreth, "\V. 11. Xiuuno, B. J. H. Burn, 10. J. 'Stamlen, AV. J. Bradnock, A. Hamilton, and K M. Anderson. A letter was received from tho Welling ton Hockey Association complimenting llio council ii]ion tho excellent cojulition of'the sports ground at Kwori. A report by tho borough engineer with regard to tho tramway track from tin! deviation to the Botanical Gardens, stated that tho City Council proposed to metal I hat portion of the roadway, which stood in need..of repair. It was proposed that; tho work should he jointly carried out by the borough and tho City Council. Th'u work, said t,ho engineer, was an urgent; one, and should be undertaken before t.ln> wet .weather got in. The report wm adopted.
