DEAL IN MAORI LAND.
« IMPORTANT CASE PENDING. (By Tclcgra ph.—Press Association.) Danncvirke, April 22. Litigation of ait interesting character is pending over a Tahoralto Native section. J. 1\ Wilson entered into .negotiations with the Natives, to purclutso 420 acres, got a transfer "signed, and paid over ,£2OOO of the purchase price to tho Natives. An application for confirmation of tho salo was made to the Ikaroa Native Land Board. This was gazetted, and the application adjourned. It is alleged that tho Maori Land Purchase Board telegraphed to tho Natives to go to Wellington, Long lit tho land, and paid the whole of tho purchase prico—between •£BOOO and <£ ( JOOO. Wilson, who sold his business to pay tho Natives, was left moneyless, landless, and without a business. It was admitted that the Nntives did not inform the Maori Land Pnrchaso Board of the transaction with Wilson, but it was nllcgcd that tho members of the board were aware of it.
1 roceodings will bo commenced against tho Natives for breach of contract, against the Nntivo Land Purchase Board members for allegedly procuring tho Nntives to break the contract, and against tho Crown for damages, and also for an injunction against registration of the transfer.l .
