Three motorists had a very narrow escape ivliile journeying from Huston to Macclesfield on March 3. The cur was being,driven bv Mr.', C. R. Sluming, of Liverpool, and when near the Cat and Fiddle Inn, six miles from Huston, Ihe foot-brake failed to act on a steep decline and the car got out of control. Sir. Slumiug's companions—Sir. Reginald JJo Hass, of Liverpool, and Mr. Moore, of Harrogate—jumped from the car, utid Sir. Sluming followed, just before the car plunged over an embankment and fell a distance of about' 90ft. The car was wrecked.
