WARNING TO WORKERS.
AUSTRALIA NO PARADISE. (By Telegraph.—Special Corresuond/mU Wangnnui, April 21. Mr. R. Mayes, a local builder who has just returned from a trip to Australia, in speaking to a pressman to-day, uttered a note of warning to workers who nro thinking of going to Australia in .the b -pe of bettering themselves. '.I'lie'y are sure, h« says, to be disappointed, for there i.s a great deal of unemployment there. Already signs of a flump in the buildius trade in Sydney are very evident and (while he was there) half a dozen vacancies. on a fiuall Government job drew two hundred applicant*.
