CITY COUNCIL SALARIES,
Sir,—X ow we are about to liavo a new council 1 hopo the old crowd will be voted out and now blood elected. I would like to ask tome of our candidates to produce u. wages sheet showing the salaries paid the council officors. This is an important matter to tho public, especially the ratepayers. Will somo person or candidate jiroduco this wages list? Thero is a big stall' to pay. Some of them cam their (lay; r>omu don't. As a ratepayer 1 should lilio to see tho salaries list published for III:; benefit of the public before the elections como oil. No doubt somo persons would oppose this, but as it is a public institution there should lie no secret. My opinion is the pay-s'lieot is l'ar too lai;ge, umi I mon- y call bo saved by a sane council, which J. liopo will bo elected.—l am, etc., IMPORTANCE. April 13.
