EVIDENCE BY DR. GILRUTH ABOUT THE NORTHERN TERRITORY, By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright (Rec. April 21, 0.20 a.m.) Sydneyj April 20. At the Empire Trado Commission, Dr. Gilruthj Administrator 'of the Northern Territory, described its development and possibilities. There were, ho said, largo areas as good as the southern States. The idea that thero was a great central desert had been exploded. An attempt should be made to develop the country with white people, both agriculturally and pastorally. Judged from his own experience, he did not, think tho climato would affect anybody's constitution much. The peoplo of Southern Europe would do well in tho Northern Territory.
