An aggregate meeting, of tlio South Coast miners at- Wollongong yesterday passed the : following resolution:—"That, in.view of,the apparently slight differences between, employers and employees regarding the proposals made by Mr. Carmichael for • Labour), we request Mr. C'armichael to call a meeting' of the two parties, with either himself or the Industrial Registrar as chairman, to adjust, the differences with a view to resumption of work/' ~ '■;■■.- , The result, of tlio meeting, camo as a shock to the townspeople of Wollongong, who believed that work would be resumed on Monday. It is considered that a long struggle is now ahead of the men, as it is.practically certain the proprietors will not grant further concessions beyond tkoSo already promised.
