The club has been inactive for some years, and last, nighf 9 meeting was the result .of a' move by Mr. T. Young, and the prevalence of a belief among motorists that it iM time nctive and combined' efforts are taken to stem a. tide'of events which threaten to make tho lot of the motorist, anvthing but a happy one. Mr. T. M. -Wilted, M.P., presided over an attendance of between twenty and thirty. Several, apologies for absence, were received; , i ' ;'.-.On the motion of the chairman.it was Resolved: "That ft was advisable.' to reorganise the Wellington Automobile Club, with a view to making it an nctive body, and of interest to motorists." ' The resignation of Mr.iC.M. Banks, hon. secretary, wns accepted with regret, and it whs decided to appoint a paid secretary. . .-' The.chairman, and Messrs. C. H. Izard, T. Young, and C. M. Banks' were nnpointed'a sub-crmim'ttee to receive applications and make the appointment, the remuneration of the secretary to bo ,G52 "per annuml ) Power was given. to tho same sub-com-mittee to take action in regard to the obstructions placed uoon the roads by tho Petonc Borough Council. | Another general meeting is to be called at a later date.
