Endeavour, it commenced in 1881 in* the Willoston Church of Portland;--Mainei Since then it has spread to almost every country in (ho wodd, and its member-)'-' arc counted by millions. ' Leading minis-' tors of nearly all denominations havogiven it their support, the Rev. F. B. Meyer being the head of tho LonUou; Christian Endeavour Union. Very n.nuj> important British and American papers give regular space to the society, and tho British national organ, (ho "Christian Endeavour," which is a large weekly, attained mi enormous circulation. The object of the movement is lo unites young people in Christian work, and form a link between the Sabbath school and' the Church. Tho movement has been an influence for good in many directions. It has been specially helpi'ui in developing the young people's powers for service, and in advancing the cause of home and for-, cign missions. ■' As one instance of this; out of many that could be given, it ivatf reported at a convention held at MiiiiKS apolis in 18H1 that 75,(100 F.ndeavourors had pledged themselves to phe'h.n < •■,'.!.■;'" per week lo foreign in'Vimi". In .March, 11)1,1, the worlds convention is to bo held in Sydney, when Dr. Clark, Iho founder, with the leading speaker from America, England. China, India, and other lands will take part. .
