STATE CONSOLIDATION SCHEME. By Telegraph—Press Association-Copyright London, April 16'. Mr. "Watt (Premier of Australia), and Mr. Holman (Attorney-General for New South Wales) discussed the subject of the consolidation of tho Stato management in London of the Emigration Departments of Victoria and New South Wales: After consultation 'with Mr. Percy Hunter, Director in Loudon of the Immigration and Tourist Bureau of New South Wales, a preliminary understanding was reached on a basis of complete amalgamation ofthe London services. The scheme if adopted, will eliminate competition and secure more effective supervision, better shipping arrangements, and greater economy, paving the way to Federal assumption of the control of immigration.
