4. MAN AT A SHOP TILL. s About !) o'clock Inst night n young man went into a shop in Virion Street, and apparently attempted to operate on tho till, which contained a sum of £3i. It was, however, ,1 bell. till, and the ring attracted the shopkeeper. Ho appeared in time to seo (he intruder making off. Ho Rfivo chase and overtook tho man, whom he handed over to a constable. Another man who had been watching at the door of the shop in tho meantimo escaped. However, an hour later Detec-tive-Sergeant Cassells and Detective Mason arrested a man on suspicion.
