(From Our Sneclal Correspondent 6.) FEUDING. The Rev. A. B. Chappell loft Fcilding for his new charge at Wangamii yesterday. There was a. largo muster of Melliotlisls nt Wesley Church on Tuesday evening to farewell Mr. and Mrs. Chappell, Mr. Wm. Carthew presiding. Numerous kindly references were made regarding the work done in the circuit by Jlr. Chappell, and he was presented with a purse of sovereigns, ujiile Mr*. Chappell was made the recipient of n handbag. The I'eilding -Association Football Club has elected the following officers—President, Mr. John-Hare (Cheltenham); vicepresidents, Messrs. Gordon Ilare (Cheltenham), A. J. Geary, A. J. Ilurn, and W. Walters (Saudon), R. Ross (Awaliuri); captain, JLr. G. Walker; vice-captain, Mr. Bristow; secretary and treasurer, Mr. Huntingdon. Messrs. Jas. Young and W. Fowlds were appointed delegates-to the M-anawatu Union. The captain, vice-cap-tain,', and secretary were appointed the selection committee, awl the captain, vice-captain, and Messrs. Morrall, and Butler the management committee. FEATHERSTON. Much interest is being taken, in the preparations for the entertainment of the men from H.M.S. New Zealand, who are to visit Featherston to-dav (Thursday). Luncheon, will be served in. the Town Hall after which a number of competitions will be held in Clifford Square. A lmka will be performed by a party of Maoris from GreytOwn, ajid there ivill also be a tug-of-war between twelve of the visitors and a local team. At the' annual meeting of the Featherston Literary and -Debating Society, held on Tuesday evening, the following officers were elected: —President, Mr. M. B. Tait; vice-presidents, Messrs. A. C. Holms, D. Macdonald, and W. Barton; secretary and treasurer, Mr. W. G. Miller (fe-elccted) ; committee, Messrs. G. T. Baker, W. J. 8011, J. W. Card, J. H. Ficldhouse, and AV. Mnlayson. It was decided to open the season on Saturday, April 26, with a match, senior v. junior.
