EMPLOYERS' LOSS.

Mr. Hill, secretary o£ tho Boilermakers' Union, reports, in connection with tho men's efforts to obtain an advance in wages, that the employers, in replying to the demands,' complained of members of the union attending football matches and funerals during working hours. This they contended had resulted in a loss to tlio employers of 18.8 per cent, in wages, the loss in many cases averaging ,£3OO annually. ■
The employers added that every advance had been abused by ill-conduct and bad time keeping. ;
