. « SUMMARY AND FORECAST. Present indications are for fair to cloudy and, after a cold night, somewhat warmer weather. Conditions unsettled and cloudy in the northern and southernmost districts Bhortly, ami a falling barometer, especially in tho south. Winds variable, but moderate to Btrong westerlies predominating over the North Island and increasiflg northerlies elsewhere. The. barometer has risen high, in the north, with moderate to strong southerly winds and cold weather, with a general improvement to-day. ' , . D. 0. BATES.
